Mobile Charging Trial 5: Caribou Crossing Motel
We were incredibly happy to partner with a local business owner who hosted our SunPlug Station from 7/13 to 8/10 this summer at their motel which is just a block away from their restaurant and bar, Zirkel Mountain Pies. We love spending time in the high country in Colorado and beating the heat is great too. The small town of Walden is the seat of Jackson County Colorado, the 4th least populous county in the state and one that lacks EV charging entirely. So of the few sessions that the station got they were each breaking records for public EV charging in Jackson County, which is awesome. We want to electrify everywhere so that people can adventure anywhere, and that is what we were able to do through this trial. We gave out 63.8 kWh of zero-carbon power and about 247 miles, avoiding 217 lbs of CO2e emissions. And this was on one of the few not electrified Scenic Byways in Colorado. The next great roadtrip could be carbon free, and that puts a smile on our face. Check out the links for the byway and for Caribou Crossing Rentals
